Follow this midlife mess in motion on a 3 month journey to the opposite side of the world
where I plan to sweep out the brain closet and unpack the shenanigans of my inner child.
God I hope they have coffee.

027 – Wat Phra Kaew

I am not surprised, but completely surprised at this sign. Very different than the western ‘no shirt, no shoes, no service.’
another golden Buddha. Not sure what this one claims as significant, but he’s outside, so must be a minor statue in the Parthenon.
These fat head naga were new to me.
I am collecting images of guardian statues. Just enjoy them and don’t ask.
The mandatory flower picture. They are everywhere overhere.
Another Monk shrine. I am finding these are very popular. I wish I read Thai so I could at least figure out who he was.
Fat head naga with cocks. It is a thing here.
Not sure what this is about, but I think the giant rabbit believes the stupa to be a carrot. There is probably an ancient text somewhere about a giant rabbit and a stupa. Could make a good children’s book.
Oh the temptation… but a monk was watching.
Bonus flower picture.
Phra Uposatha. The incubating hen. I don’t get it.
I love that these guys on the roof have balls in their mouths. Like, you threw it up here and I’m a gonna keep it.
Hide it from you, I will. You will never notice.
I noticed. I laughed. It is a golden version of my dog on a roof.
Naga protecting the hen. Or perhaps the egg. Or… it is what it is. I cannot explain it.
Phra Jao Lan Thong is the bronze and copper Buddha who resides in the incubating hen.
This is a downspout. I want a cool downspout.
everyone in this building gets a cool downspout. I should get a cool downspout.
The new Canadian Chinese Emerald Buddha.
Eight days a week – The Buddah band.
I don’t care why this was here. It was simply very pleasant to look at. Damn.
I took 2 pictures so I could look longer. I like the first one better.
