Follow this midlife mess in motion on a 3 month journey to the opposite side of the world
where I plan to sweep out the brain closet and unpack the shenanigans of my inner child.
God I hope they have coffee.

015 – Luang Prabang, Laos

Found this on my bed when I arrived in Luang Prabang, Laos. I guess I’m not sleeping alone.
Early morning Alms walk of the monks
They collect their food for the day

Phousi Hill

First stairs to top of Phousi. Doesn’t look too bad.
But wait. There’s more

All the stairs appear to be protected from evil spirits such as myself.

The “it doesn’t look like the top, but there are a lot of statues here” deceptive pause point.

Of course. More stairs.
Could not decide if this guy was sitting, standing, squatting, or churning butter.
The tusks work with his overall aura, but he would be hard to kiss.
Still undecided on the butter churning. Whatever it is, does not look comfortable.

Hmong Batik Class

No, I’m not showing off my perfectly sculpted calf. Ha. I’m illustrating chair height. The arm of the chair is just below my knee. Laos at least has normal size dining chairs and tables, but this is their idea of leisure. This is my idea of paying for crane rental if I choose to sit.
The Laos Kip. 1 kip is approximately .000050 United States Dollar. So they use a lot of zeros.
