050 – Chiang Mai Flower Festival

One event MJ has not been able to attend because she has just missed it on one end or the other, is the Chiang Mai Flower festival. We caught the one in Chiang Rai, and this was the last week for the festival here, so we went to view it at night.
The event is held at the Chiang Mai Chaloem Phrakiat Park.

But first, there were birds. Probably as common as sparrows around here, this one was outside my door singing her lungs off. No idea what kind it is, and am not going to bother to look it up, but you hear this song a lot around here. So far, rarely see one, but hear them constantly.

And today we hit this temple. I don’t remember the name of it. I don’t remember why we stopped at it, and honestly, the only thing I remember about it is they have a sign asking to not bang the bells loudly.
Oh, and there was a bird by a Buddha image.
So, in summary, some pics of the unnamed temple.

Anyway, back to flowers. There were a lot of people walking around the park getting their exercise in, and we apparently were walking against the flow, but we made it around to see a lot of very pretty flowers, only a few of which I could identify.
Again, glad MJ picked out her flowers because she used to work in a flower shop and knows of such things.
It was neat to see it at night when the misters were on and the lights shone through. Sadly, I did not get great pictures because I did not have the ‘good camera’ with me. But it was neat to see.

For dinner we went to one of the night markets. I am told Friday, Saturday and Sunday are the best. All different locations, but the general theme is there is usually a night market somewhere.
I honestly cannot remember which one this one was, but there was food involved.
