Wat Phra That Doi Chom Thong was at the top of a hill after the random military museum. We got to the top and they were having new carpet put in, so we really did not see much. But the outside was nice.

The Navel City Pillar of Chiang Rai was constructed in 1987 to celebrate the 725th anniversary of the city of Chiang Rai.
It is on top of Doi Chom Thong (Doi means hill or mountain, which is why we climbed a very large hill to get there).
It is on the grounds of Wat Phra That Doi Chom Thong (Temple on Doi Chom Hill. Very descriptive if you know a few things).
There is one main pillar and 108 smaller surrounding pillars on a 3 tier platform mad of marble. The 3 tiers apparently are symbolic of the Rupabrahma, Arupabrahma and Nirvana. The numbers, spacing, whole thing in general is symbolic of the 6 tiers of heaven divided by 5 important rivers.
I read a sign. I really did not deep dive.
Women were dressing the pilars in cloth and adorning the middle one with offerings, but we were not allowed on the steps. Not sure why.

One other thing I picked up is that the width of the main pillar is five times the width of the king’s fist and its height matches the king’s height.
